Consecrate Russia
AS THE VIRGIN ORDERED
IT
Today, however, I would like to focus more
directly on the Consecration of Russia. This is an act to which almost
unimaginable blessings are specifically linked if it is carried out, and grave
consequences if Russia is not consecrated. Contrary to the Secret, its
integral content is already known. There is no need to fear about the
strategic information of the secret that may fall into the wrong hands, that
is, the communists, or of shamed revelations about the apostasy or immorality
in the Church, that we already feel today, the secret of La Salette is already
it made a reality about the corruption of the clergy that we could fear more
scandals in this matter.
It seems such a simple request, such a modest
and innocent request on the part of Our Mother, that is, to carry out a happy
ceremony in which She is honored in a special way ,
consecrating to Her Immaculate Heart a country for which the Lady many times
showed Her maternal affection throughout history, and where She has been, from
time immemorial, honored in this matter, in popular piety and in the liturgical
life of the Catholic Church and also of the Orthodox Church.
It must be asked, even if it had already been
more or less done, or indeed done, or that it was not absolutely necessary, or
that we can be certain that our Blessed Mother is willing to accept other
minimum conditions that are in accordance with her royal request.
Why don't they do it, whatever it is?
What is the problem? What's wrong with
this? Why haven't they done it in these 70 years after Vatican II, as if
it were something absolutely out of the question? ¿As if it were something
that should not be talked about, or even an unthinkable case? Why?
This issue seems to me to be important to
investigate, not to see whose fault it is - but to try to identify what
these mysterious impediments will be, to remove them and act accordingly.
In this context, I think it is also important
to keep in mind the scenario that I already described about the fear of
divulging the Secret. If there are global enemies in whose hands the
Secret of Fatima could be used to unleash great evils upon humanity, wouldn't
the same forces be in a position to threaten the Vatican if the Consecration of
Russia were to take place? I do not ask you to accept this scenario as if
it were reality, but only to keep it in mind as a possibility. In the
meantime, let's look at some other reasons that might explain the Popes'
refusal to consecrate Russia by name, as Our Lady had requested.
One theory refers to the veracity of Sister
Lucia's testimony
-As for what Our Lady originally asked for and
the specific response required. If the Vatican sources doubted the credibility
of Sister Lucia in transmitting Our Lady's request, that would damage the
credibility of the need and certainty of consecrating Russia urgently. And if
they doubted their credibility in transmitting Our Lady's promises, perhaps
they feared a potential loss of credibility for the Church if the Pontiffs
followed the Fatima formula and the conversion of Russia or a time of peace did
not occur.
That such concerns could arise in the case of
private or even semi-public disclosures is an important requirement. It is
precisely to avoid exposing itself to this type of scandal that the Church does
not usually support the apparitions reported before they are over, or the
prophecies of mystics before they are validated by the Church, or the holiness
of holy people while they are still alive. . This could perhaps explain
why the Secret was buried in 1960 and retroactively modified in 2000.
Such estimates can be given in relation to the
apparitions reported after them or to the professed "mystics" or to
the sanctity of sighted persons.
But this explanation - the concern about
credibility - is not convincing in the case of Fatima. Because the credibility
argument was the spectacular miracle of the sun. Also, his prediction about the
first world war and about the second world war and the famous cold war. This
led many Popes to a much more public adherence to Fatima than the rule of
prudence normally allowed. However, despite the miracles, the Vatican did not
comply with the request of the Blessed Sacrament, so why would the consecration
of Russia create any new cliff in this regard?
If the Holy See, during a succession of
pontificates, really wanted to question the phenomenon of Fatima, wanted to
shelve it and discourage the interest of Catholics, etc., it would have many ways
of doing it. But instead of distancing themselves from this "particular
revelation", the Popes have openly accepted it with public prayers, the
granting of indulgences, the institution of the Liturgical Feast of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13, visits
to the Sanctuary of Fatima, and correspondence or visits with Sister Lucia. And
several Popes made Consecrations clearly in response to Our Lady of Fatima's
requests.
· In 1942, Pius
XII publicly consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, making an
allusion that could be interpreted as referring to Russia. And later, in
the encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam , he instructed all the
Bishops of the world to associate with him in the renewal of that Consecration
in 1954.
· In 1952,
responding to a request from Russian Catholics, Pius XII consecrated the
peoples of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, but in an apostolic letter,
without ceremony or the presence of the Bishops.
· During the
Marian Year of 1954, having invited the Bishops to associate with him, Pius XII
renewed the Consecration of 1942.
· At the closing
of the 1964 session of the Second Vatican Council, Pope Paul VI renewed the
Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart, made by Pius XII, and
entrusted the entire Church to His care.
· Pope John Paul
II, who publicly stated that Our Lady of Fatima had saved his life in the 1981
assassination attempt, consecrated the world to Her Immaculate Heart during her
convalescence in 1981, and again in 1982, very publicly., in Fatima.
· Again in 1984,
John Paul II consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, inviting
all the Bishops to associate with him. Some Bishops, but by no means all,
actually participated in simultaneous celebrations in various basilicas around
the world.
· Finally, in
October 2000, Pope John Paul II, once again in a very public ceremony, with
almost 1,500 Bishops present, “entrusted” the “world” to the Immaculate Heart
of Mary. This despite the firm policy of the Vatican, since 1989 of insisting
that everyone, including Sister Lucia, recognize that the 1984 consecration had
already fulfilled Our Lady's requests. But in reality none of them directly
included Russia and, for this reason, the very particular request to consecrate
Russia to her Immaculate Heart has not been fulfilled solely and exclusively
without mention of another nature or linked to another request.
But if we can deduce three very important
things: (1) the Popes did not hesitate to publicly accept the apparitions
and the Message of Fatima; (2) The Popes did not consider it disconcerting to
do the Consecration again, just because it had been done earlier; and (3) the
Popes reflected each time if they had really fulfilled, in truth, what the Consecration
requires as we have already said above.
Perhaps the world in general, and even the
followers of Fatima, would have given up somehow long ago to see this
consecration carried out if the results were seen in three parts (the
Consecration of Russia, the conversion of Russia and the era of Russia). peace
in the world) if the Popes themselves, especially Pius XII and John Paul II,
were not so interested in wanting it, even when they could not take the
necessary measures to make it happen. If the Consecration of Russia had clearly
been done well in 1960, why did subsequent Popes try to consecrate Russia
several times? And two years later, why did John Paul II feel compelled to add,
after completing the 1984 consecration formula, an extra sentence that was not
in the original text:"Especially enlighten the peoples whose Consecration
and surrender that You are waiting for from us", - as Pius XII had
included a veiled allusion to Russia not named in his Consecration of the world
in 1942? Why did John Paul II think that he should do another Consecration
in 2000, after the Vatican had insisted since 1989 that the Consecration of
1984 had succeeded in doing all that was necessary? Why did both these Pontiffs
repeatedly send high-level emissaries to question Sister Lucia about exactly
what Our Lady had asked for? And why did John Paul II repeatedly ask close
advisers, after his World Consecrations, if they thought that what had been
done would satisfy Our Lady's conditions for the Consecration of Russia?
Of course, these Popes felt that it was
necessary to do more, they wanted to do it, but they thought they could
not. They tried to do as much as possible without mentioning Russia by
name - an invisible line that they did not dare to cross. Apparently, reasons
of prudence had made it impossible. In light of this history, identifying,
reviewing, and reexamining these reasons is more important than ever.
