SAN PÍO X
Go to Jesus Christ through the Church
So that by the
extension of the Catholic Church we will sanctify ourselves, we will honor Our
Lord and his kingdom will come to us. There is no other way. That is
precisely what we fight for. We want to maintain the Church as it has
always been, to transmit Our Jesus Christ to souls, as he has always wanted to
give himself, that is, by the Church, by the faith of the Church and by his
grace.
Let's continue
reading:
«You see, Venerable
Brothers, what is the office that is ultimately entrusted to us as well as to
you: that we bring human society, away from the wisdom of Christ, to the
doctrine of the Church. Truly the Church belongs to Christ and Christ is
to God».
The order that God
wants
«Now, for success
to respond to desires, it is necessary to try by all means and with all effort
to uproot that cruel and detestable crime, characteristic of this time: the
desire that man has to place himself in the place of God".
How can we not
think here of the news of the Second Vatican Council? What strikes us is
precisely the role of man in relation to God. It is something like the religion
of man. The new mass highlights the man above all; it is a democratic mass.
Whereas the Mass of Tradition, which we say every day, is a hierarchical Mass:
God, Christ, the Church, in the person of the bishop and the priest; then the
faithful, in whom there is also a hierarchy. At one time a distinction was made
between princes and magistrates - who have an authority and therefore share the
authority of Our Lord, since all authority comes from God - and the faithful
people.
They are not ideas
from the Middle Ages, but simply the hierarchy as it will be in Heaven: there
will be God and then the hierarchy of angels, and the same among the
saints. All of this is normal; God has wanted us to participate to a
greater or lesser degree in his glory.
Let us see in this
an opportunity to exercise charity, since as some have fewer gifts and others
more, this is how communications are born between men in this world, as between
angels and saints in Heaven.
On the other hand,
according to modern errors, all men are equal. They are a uniform mass,
and the one who gives the authority is the man. Man replaces God. God
no longer exists.
Saint Pius X
recalls the order that God wants for society:
«It will be
necessary to restore its old dignity to the precepts and evangelical counsels;
It will be necessary to proclaim more firmly the truths transmitted by the
Church, all its doctrine on the sanctity of marriage, the doctrinal education
of children, the ownership of goods and their use, the duties for and with
those who administer the State; in short, the balance between the different
orders of society, the law and Christian customs must be reestablished. We, of
course, seconding the will of God, we propose to try it in our pontificate and
we will continue to do it to the best of our ability».
This is the program
of Saint Pius X: to establish all things in
Christ, to put God back in society through the Church, to restore order in
society through the Christian institutions that the Church has always defended
and taught.
Train priests
Next, the Pope
addresses the bishops. What is your trade? What do you have to do to
achieve this reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ? What means should be employed
to achieve such a high end?
«It is hardly
necessary to talk about the means that can help us in such an undertaking,
since they are taken from common doctrine. Of your concerns, let it be the
first to form Christ in those who by reason of their office are destined to
form Christ in others. I think of the priests, Venerable
Brothers. May all those who have been initiated into sacred orders be
aware that, in the people with whom they live, they are assigned the mission
that Paul declared to have received with those words full of affection: My
children, for whom I suffer labor pains again until you see Christ formed in
you (Gal. 4:19) ».
So you need to
think about the seminars:
"[The priest]
is called another Christ not only because of the participation
of his power, but because he imitates his deeds, and in this way bears the
image of Christ imprinted on himself."
Saint Pius X
exhorts the bishops: “What has to be your main occupation? The
priests". It is normal. What would the Church be without
priests, without authentic and holy priests? We are heading towards that
catastrophe much more than in the time of Saint Pius X… If he returned, he
would insist even more on this point. Now priests no longer have the
spirit of the priesthood, nor do they preach the Gospel or the true catechism,
or what is worse: they get married. There are almost no seminarians, or
they are not well trained. What can produce this situation?
Multiply the seminars
I insist: the first
concern of the bishops must be the formation of true priests. We could not have
chosen a better Patron for the Fraternity than Saint Pius X. As the current
situation is worse than when this holy Pope lived, it seemed to me that being a
bishop and not officially holding any position, it seemed that the best thing I
could do for the Church and for the restoration of the reign of Our Lord Jesus
Christ in the Church and in society, was to train priests, and, therefore, open
seminaries and prepare formators of priests.
You have to
multiply the seminars. This is the primary purpose of the Saint Pius X
Priestly Fraternity. It would take a seminary in Canada, another in Mexico,
Colombia, Australia and South Africa; the same in Ireland, in England and
everywhere ... 2 Priests are needed, and not just any, to
renew the Church and restore the social reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sometimes you hear
people say: “The situation is changing and the number of seminarians is
increasing; for example: at the seminary in Paderborn, 39 seminarians just
entered last year; in Habsburg, 25; In a new seminary in Argentina, a
bishop has tried to reestablish tradition a bit and many young people are
attracted by the use of Latin and by a certain discipline” ...
However, you have
to look closely at what kind of philosophy they are taught, what liturgy is
used, and even what general discipline they have. These young seminarians are
not taught scholastic philosophy, which is still the true philosophy of the
Church, but a history of philosophy (that is, all philosophies), but the true
principles of philosophy are not learned. The same thing happens with theology;
apologetics and Sacred Scripture are studied above all. So these priests are
not only not formed, but are deformed.
A professor from
Paderborn came to see us at our seminary in Zaitzkofen recently, and he told
us: “It is true that we have seminarians and that when they arrive they come
with very good dispositions and with a desire to learn the Truth, but after one
or two years they realize that they are completely deformed and that they are
not taught what they had come to learn; then they get discouraged, they lose
the notion of the truth and they go to other places ”.
Another example:
the Regensburg (Regensburg) seminary was considered until recently as the
traditionalist seminary in Germany and Bishop Graber was also considered
traditionalist, having written a “reactionary” booklet against some positions
of the Council. ¿I went to visit him and what did he tell me? - “Yes, I have
seminarians; ¿I have ordained 18 priests this year and I am going to have even
more vocations “... -” So - I asked him - are you happy? " - "Not so
much," he told me, "because many seminarians do not attend mass in
the morning and many of them have long hair down to their shoulders" ...
All in all, we
would be happy and thank God if there were seminars that started to get back on
the right track, but this is not the case. As time goes by, it will take
even fewer teachers who know the philosophy of St. Thomas or the real
theology. For this reason, a good part of the seminarians of the Saint
Pius X Fraternity will in turn be destined to be professors in our
seminaries. Training holy priests is absolutely essential.
Saint Pius X warmly
invites us:
«¡In this
situation, what care you must take, ¡Venerable Brothers, ¡in the formation of
the clergy to be saints! It is necessary that all other tasks that are
presented to you, whatever they may be, yield to this one. For this reason, the
best part of your zeal should be used in the organization and administration of
the sacred seminaries, so that they flourish for the integrity of their
doctrine and for the sanctity of their customs. Each one of you preserve for
the Seminary the delights of your heart, without omitting for your good
progress anything that was established with great prudence by the Council of Trent.
When the time comes
to initiate candidates into holy orders, please do not forget Paul's
prescription to Timothy: Lay hands on no one rashly (1 Tim
5:22). Consider carefully that ordinarily the faithful will be such as they
are 2 In 2002, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X
already has 6 seminaries:
Important
note It is necessary to make it clear that Archbishop Lefebvre complied to the
letter with the thought of Saint Pius X on the formation of true priests until
his death March 25, 1991. From his beginning until his death he imposed the
ordering the anti-modernist oath commanded by Saint Pius X, then it is not
known with certainty until the continuous year or the new authorities of the
Neo-Fraternity left it by virtue of their agreements with modernist and
heretical Rome)

who you assign to
the Priesthood. Therefore, do not have your sights set on your own
usefulness; mi-rad only to God, to the Church and the eternal happiness of
souls, lest, as the Apostle warns, you have a part in the
sins of others (id.)» .
Stay awake with the
young priests Nor should the new priests be neglected when they leave the
seminary:
«Don't let the
beginning priests and those just out of the seminary miss your care. To these -
we ask it with all our soul - frequently draw them to your heart, which must
feed on the celestial fire, kindle them, inflame them in such a way that they
yearn only for God and the good of souls. We certainly, Venerable Brothers,
will provide with the greatest diligence so that these sacred men are not
caught by the tricks of this new and deceptive science that does not have the
good smell of Christ and that, with false and cunning arguments, tries to
promote the errors of the rationalism and semi- rationalism ; Against this
the Apostle already warned Timothy when he wrote to him:Guard
the deposit that has been entrusted to you, avoiding the profane novelties and
the contradictions of false science that some profess as they stray from their
faith (1 Tim. 6:20) ».
Newly ordained
priests need to be cared for:
«We have
great sadness and continuous pain in our hearts (Rom. 92, 2) when we
see that Jeremiah's lamentation is applicable to our time: The little ones asked
for bread and there was no one to break it (Lam. 4, 4). There
is no shortage of the clergy who, according to their own qualities, toil in
things of perhaps not very definite utility, while, on the contrary, there are
not so many who, following the example of Christ, accept the voice of the
Prophet: The Spirit anointed me, he sent me to evangelize
the poor, to heal the contrite of heart, to preach freedom to the captives and
the recovery of sight to the blind (Luke 4: 18-19) »
NOTE.
Regarding these words of the prophet, I must tell a sad anecdote that broke my
soul at the time when I was a member of this congregation. He was serving among
the guaraní tribes in the north of Paraguay, lasting four years with them.
At
first it was very hard to establish contact with them, later I realized the
situation of poverty in which they found themselves; They did not have a farm
tool or tool to cultivate the land, they did not have seed suitable enough to
produce fruit, the corn was very old, as was the rice and little cassava. My
first purpose was to supply this tribe with good quality seed in both rice and
corn, to buy hoes, shovels, picks and other tools of work, then the doctrine.
About fifty children were baptized, the chief or chief of the tribe and his
wife were baptized, finally, they were regularized in the sacrament of marriage
... the way was already open. Before leaving the mission by order of my
"superiors" I had to leave the mission before this, the tribe
assigned me the priestly room and they also pointed out the place where the
chapel would be built; the mission was called THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION. With
great pain I left the mission because I had a feeling in the depths of my soul
that the new and "comfortable superiors" would leave the mission just
because they would not get any financial benefit from it. My conscience is
clear because without anything I came to it and without anything I left it,
finally, I found out that the mission ended up in the hands of the Protestants,
what a terrible shame. With great pain I left the mission because I had a

I suppose that the
Pope at that time, when he said that many priests used their time in things
very foreign to the exercise of their ministry, the teaching of the catechism,
the administration of the sacraments, etc., remembered his diocese.
What could be said
today? Where is there a parish where the priest is in the confessional
waiting for the penitents? You have to go to the rectory; the priest
has left or does not have time ... and the faithful do not dare to insist and
do not go to confession.
Saint Pius X always
insisted that the priest's first occupation is to teach the catechism. Today's
priests say: “No; That is not my obligation, but that of the parents” … Of
course parents have to teach their children the rudiments of the catechism and
that is very good. But the priest is the one who has the science to impart
religious teaching, not to deliver great philosophical speeches to a select
group of people, but to have the skills to transmit religious science to
children and simple people. There is a danger of being absorbed by highly
speculative sciences and not adapting to all people. We must know how to adapt
the science that we have received to the people to whom it corresponds to
teach.
NOTE
In my year and a half in Santiago, Chile, I was in charge of 11 catechism
groups, every weekend I visited each one of them. He spoke with the
catechists, with the children and the parents, a priceless and comforting
experience that was very comforting. From the first days of November all
these groups began to parade through the chapel to make their first communion
until December 8, the day of the Immaculate Conception, when the last group
made their first communion, ending with a triumphal procession through the
streets surrounding the priory of Santiago de Chile.
Please
do not ask the name of the priest who was in the Guaraní mission or in Santiago
de Chile
