False wonders on Earth

After warning Blessed Pius IX about the false prodigies that would occur in those times, Our Lady continued:

“In the year 1864, Lucifer and a large number of demons will be released from hell; they will abolish the Faith little by little, even in people consecrated to God; They will blind them in such a way that, except for a particular grace, they will acquire the spirit of those evil angels; many religious houses will completely lose their Faith and will lose many souls.

“Bad books will abound on Earth and the spirits of darkness will spread everywhere a universal relaxation in everything that concerns the service of God; they will have enormous power over nature; There will be churches to worship those spirits.  There will be people who will be transported from one place to another by these evil spirits, including priests, because they will not have been led by the good spirit of the Gospel, which is a spirit of humility, charity and zeal for the glory of God.  The dead and the righteous will be resurrected (that is, said dead will take the figure of just souls who lived on Earth, to seduce men more; these supposed resurrected dead, who will be nothing more than the devil incarnated in those figures, will preach another gospel contrary to that of the true Jesus Christ, denying the existence of Heaven);  or even souls of the damned. All those souls will appear as if united to their bodies. In all places there will be extraordinary wonders, because the true Faith has gone out and a false light illuminates the world.  Woe to the princes of the Church who will then be occupied only with accumulating wealth, safeguarding their authority and dominating with pride!

“The righteous will suffer greatly; Their prayers, their penance and their tears will rise to Heaven and all of God's people will ask for forgiveness and mercy, they will ask for a lot of help and intercession. Then Jesus Christ, by an act of his justice and of his great mercy towards the righteous, will order his angels to cause the death of all his enemies. Suddenly, the persecutors of the Church of Jesus Christ and all men given over to sin will perish and the Earth will be transformed, so to speak, into a desert...
