THE DIVINE HEART OF JESUS. SAN JUAN EUDES

Note.  The month of June has been par excellence the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a sea of infinite charity that, could not be contained in its sacred humanity, flowed from his heart pierced by the spear, the infinite charity that has flooded the world to the The end of the ages.  This charity has been felt even more in the great calamitous moments of our sacrosanct religion and this current moment is not the exception when it receives its most furious attack whose aim is to try to "end" this traditional devotion in the Church by supplying it for a sanctioned devotion.  by the Pontiffs prior to the Second Vatican Council and returned to the Catholic world by John Paul II.  The devotion to "divine mercy" is a socalled "modern devotion" that destroys true devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Nobody better than Saint John Eudes who with his inspired texts returns the throne to the Sacred Heart, I hope they serve to base this devotion in your souls and give you the courage to defend it against those who want to attack or diminish it.  Father ARTURO VARGAS

WN OF THE GLORY OF THE HOLY HEART OF MARY.

It is not fair to separate two realities that God has united so closely with the strongest ties of nature, grace and glory.  I refer to the divine Heart of Jesus, the only Son of Mary and the virginal Heart of Mary, Mother of Jesus.  The Heart of the best Father that can exist and of the best Daughter that has ever existed and will always exist; the Heart of the most divine of husbands and of the holiest of wives;  the Heart of the kindest of all Sons and the most loving of all Mothers.

They are two hearts united by the same spirit and the same love that unites the Father of Jesus with his beloved Son until they form only one Heart, not in unity of essence as is the unity of the Father and the Son, but of feeling, of affection and of will.

These two hearts of Jesus and Mary are so intimately united that the Heart of Jesus is the principle of the Heart of Mary as the creator is the principle of her creature; and that the Heart of Mary is the origin of the Heart of Jesus as the mother is the origin of the heart of her child.

Wonderful wonder!  The Heart of Jesus is the heart, soul, spirit and life of the Heart of Mary.  It does not have this activity or feeling except for the Heart of Jesus.  In turn, the Heart of Mary is the source of the life of the Heart of Jesus, residing in her blessed womb, as the heart of the mother is the beginning of the life of the heart of her Son.

Finally, the adorable Heart of Jesus is the crown and the glory of the kind Heart of the Queen of Saints.  Just as the Heart of Mary is the glory and the crown of the Heart of Jesus because it gives it more honor than all the hearts of paradise.

For this reason, after having spoken at length about the August Heart of Mary, it is reasonable not to finish this book without saying something about the admirable Heart of Jesus.  But what can we say about a subject that is ineffable, immense, incomprehensible, and infinitely elevated above the lights of the cherubs?  The tongues of the seraphim would be too weak to speak with dignity of the slightest spark of that bonfire scorched by divine love.  Like a wretched sinner, full of darkness and iniquity?  will he dare to approach that abyss of holiness?  How dare you look at that formidable sanctuary when those terrible words strike your ears: ¿tremble before my sanctuary? ‘” Lord Jesus, wash in my iniquities so that I deserve to enter the Holy of Holies with a purified spirit", with pure thoughts and words burning in that heavenly fire that you brought to earth and burn the hearts of the readers in it.

CHAPTER 11: THE HEART OF JESUS IS A BURN OF LOVE TO THE ETERNAL FATHER

Infinite reasons compel us to pay adoration and honors to the divine Heart of our Savior.  They are contained in the words of Saint Bemardin of Siena who calls that Heart: "Bonfire of most ardent charity to inflame and burn the entire universe."

Indeed, the admirable Heart of Jesus is a bonfire of love for his Father, for his holy Mother, for his Church and for each one of us, as will be seen in the following chapters.

But what spirit could imagine And what language could express the least spark of that infinite fire of divine love that burns the Heart of the Son of God towards his Father?  He is robed of a love worthy of such a Father and such a Son.  It is love at the height of the perfections of the loved one.  He is an infinitely loving Son who loves an infinitely loving Father.  He is a God who loves a God.  It is essential love that loves eternal love.  It is immense, incomprehensible and infinite love.  In a word, the Heart of Jesus, both in his divinity and in his humanity.  He is more fired with love for his Father, and he loves him infinitely more in every moment, than the hearts of angels and saints in all eternity.  And since there is no greater love than to lay down his life for the beloved, the Son of God loves his Father so much that he would be ready to sacrifice it again, as he sacrificed it on the cross, and with the same torments, for his love.  Father, if such were your pleasure.  And since it is immense love, he would be ready to sacrifice it for the entire universe.  And since it is eternal and infinite love, he would be willing to sacrifice her eternally, infinite times and with infinite pain.

¡Oh Father, Creator, ¡life and Lord of the universe!  Nothing in the world is as lovable as you.  Your infinite perfections and your unspeakable bounties impose on your creatures infinite obligations to serve you, honor you and love you with all their might.  And yet there is nothing in the world that is as unloved as you, as despised and outraged as you.  They have hated me and my Father 1, says your Son Jesus: Gratuitously they have hated me 2 that instead I have showered them with benefits.  For a multitude of demons and the damned in hell utter millions of blasphemies against your majesty and the earth is full of infidels, heretics and false Christians who treat you as if you were their worst enemy.

But two things comfort and cheer me up.  The first is that your perfections and greatness, my God, are so admirable and you feel such satisfaction in the infinite love of your Son for you and in what he did and suffered to repair the injuries of your enemies that they will never be able to take the least from you.  shine of your glory and happiness.

The second is that Jesus, your Son, who out of extreme goodness wanted to be our Head so that we could be his members, has associated us with him in the love he has for you and has therefore allowed us to love you with his same love that is, in a way, eternal, immense and infinite.

For you to understand it well, keep these three points in mind: the first is that the love of the Son of God for his Father is eternal, it does not pass, it always subsists.  stable and permanent.  The second.  that that love fills everything with the immensity of it and for the same reason it is in our hearts, more intimate in us than in ourselves, as Saint Augustine says.  The third, that the Father of Jesus has given us all things 1 by giving us his Son and therefore the love of the Son of God for his Father belongs to us and we can use him as our own.

So I can love his Father and my Father with the same love with which my Savior loves him, with eternal, immense and infinite love.  And to put it into practice I can say this way: I give myself to you, my Savior, to associate myself with the love you have for your Father.  I offer you, adorable Father, that eternal, immense and infamous love of your Son Jesus, as something that belongs to me and just as the Savior tells us: I love you as my Father loves me, in turn I can tell you: I love you, Father, as your Son loves you.

and since the love of the Father for his Son is as much mine as the love of the Son for his Father, I can also use that same love of the Father for his Son.  as from a love of mine; what I can implement like this:

I give myself to you, Father of Jesus, and I unite myself to the eternal, immense and infinite love that you have for your beloved Son.  I offer you, Jesus, the eternal, immense and infinite love of your Father for you, as a love that belongs to me.  And just as this beloved redeemer tells us: I love you as my Father loves me, I can in my turn say to him: I love you, my Savior, as your heavenly Father loves you.

What happiness for us that the eternal Father has made us a gift of his Son and of all things with him and not only to be our redeemer and our brother but also our Head!  What a privilege to be members of the Son of God and therefore one with him, and to have with him the same spirit, the same heart and the same love to love his Father!  It is not surprising, then, that speaking of us to the heavenly Father, Jesus tells him: You loved them as you loved me a thousand and that he begs him to always love us like this: May the love with which you loved me remain in him, because if we love  It is not surprising to that Father as worthy of love as his Son loves him, we cannot be surprised that he loves us as he loves his Son because he looks at us in him as members of his Son who are one with him and who love him with the same Heart and God.  same love as her Son.

May heaven and earth and all created beings become a pure flame of love for this Father of mercy and the only Son of his love;  this is what Saint Paul calls him when he says: "He trasnferret us to the kingdom of his beloved son"
